My name is John. Ive been doing all my own work around the house for years now, and I feel confident to carry out the building of the roof to my new extension. I just wondered if anyone could give me a brief breakdown of this, such as how I would go about attaching the hip rafters to the trusses etc etc. I would be greatful of any hints anyone could give me.
Thanks all
John

Before constructing or even developing your roofing system, it is important to create a checklist of guidelines. Those guidelines should include:
* Defining expectations. * Bringing in consulting help. * Viewing roofs as systems. * Enabling the roof to live up to its usage. * Making sustainability a key. * Location, location, location. * Being realistic. * Viewing insulation as part of the system. * Practicing proactive maintenance. * Going beyond the building code. * Considering all alternatives.
