I'm a building surveying student starting my final year, and looking at an early start on my dissertation.
My topic of research is "The growing benefits of Eco home construction, but just how much do we know about the construction methods used in Eco homes".
This dissertation is aimed at the general public/home owners and one of the main questions is "To identify how knowledgeable the general public are in regards to Eco-homes and green building methods of construction, and to evaluate their perception of the advantages of environmentally friendly homes".
I would be most grateful if anyone has any useful information in regards to, websites, journals, books etc.

Well, the general public isn't represented by individuals publishing their opinions, maybe with vested interests....
The general rule for a sustainable building as that it should be constructed to last for at least 300 years and doing it's job. This knowledge is not even present in builders/architect circles.

There are plenty of architects and builders now that are serious about implementing environmental care. Achieving it comprehensively at the point of use is something else though. The population at large has become besotted over carbon to the exclusion of many other very important issues.
