Hi
I have a question Regarding insulating an enclosed wall or roof cavity space, ? why is this problematic? I know about the thermal bridge , but anything else.???

Thanks

We need some more details to be able to understand your question.

I am afraid I don't have more , this is a exam question and I am wondering what did I miss ?? I appreciate it if anyone can
help.

I always get good marks in exams (except English)

I dont understand what an enclosed wall is! presumably it is a wall within a building and therefore within its thermal envelope so it would be a waste of time, effort and resources to insulate such a wall!

A roof when insulated (I think that they may mean loft) would need to ventilated in order to reduce the risk of condensation and to be able to ventilate away any moisture that does form.

The funny thing is that this does not apply to walls which do not need ventilating and this has always mystified me -- why do roof voids need ventilating but wall voids dont??

I think the question might be prodding for a mention of condensation risks.
