Outward Opening Passivhaus Window Launched A new slimline version of an outward opening Scandinavian profile windows is now available. The timber and aluminium composite system uses advanced aluminium cladding profiles and 48mm triple glazed units to achieve a standard window u-value of 0.65W/m²K. GreenSteps’ new Passivhaus performance level outward opening window has been developed in response to demand from architects and specifiers.

Managing Director Ben Nickell says “British people generally prefer the functionality of an outward opening window. Due to advances in window technology, we can now produce an outward opening window system which gives outstanding performance levels suitable for Passivhaus constructions at very competitive price levels. The window system’s opening casements have a flush external appearance and slim frame sightlines, features which are consistently requested to satisfy the demands of modern and minimalist architectural styles.

The initial response to the product has been extremely positive and the first orders are due for installation from the end of March onwards.”

The new Scandinavian Slimline system is available with side hung, side swing, top hung and fully reversible hinges and has a full suite of complementary products available in the same profile design, including lift & slide doors, entrance doors and terrace doors.
