Printer FriendlyTell a Friend
Green Open Homes week at Waltham forest is a great opportunity for people to visit homes in the borough that have been made greener, warmer and cheaper to run. Homes range from the traditional to the funky, large and small, low budget and high tech.

There will be: Energy Saving Advice sessions

Go and visit HEET, Waltham's local energy advice organisation in Selbourne Walk – bring your bills and they’ll analyse them for you! Also pick up paint from Forest Recycling Project and even some beautiful upcycled furniture from Shed Homewares E17.

Hot Tips for Warm Homes with the Experts:
Thurs 16 June, 4-8pm – session at 6.30pm Friday Hill TMO, The Chingdale Centre, 19 Chingdale Road, London E4 6HZ

GREEN OPEN HOMES WEEKEND
Sat 18 and Sun 19 June – visit up to 11 homes that have been referred or decorated with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind.

All homowners that are opening their homes to visitors have a wealth of information and great stories to tell about what motivated them to make these changes, and what they learned in the process. Several of our homes featured in the last two year’s weekends – come and see what has changed in the last twelve months!

Who is it for?
If you are interested in improving your home, living more cheaply and thinking creatively about your living space then this weekend is for you. We have several rented homes in the programme this year, showing that you don’t have to own your home to make substantial improvements – and savings!

How does it work?
This year the homes will be drop-in (except for Dee and Dwight’s house which has two bookable tours on Saturday).

Some homes are open on Saturday, some on Sunday, so use the info here or pick up a brochure and fold out map from the Hornbeam or Waltham Forest libraries to plan your route on each day. Brochures will also be available at each Green Open Home venue and energy advice sessions.
