Extract:
We asked some of our readers how they may be changing or strengthening their approach to the walling element of homes and buildings. In this feature they share some of their research and practical ideas with the rest of us.

Firstly I suppose I ought to explain my background. I started out as a labourer 26 years ago, progressing to site manager and then contracts manager before moving across to technical management 7 years ago. At the time of writing this I was an associate technical director at Linden Homes. By the time this goes to press I will have moved on to work for the Richard Hodkinson Consultancy where I will be using the skills I have gained to promote sustainability, renewable energy and energy efficiency to a wider audience in the house building industry.
