We chose the location as we are keen dinghy sailors and enjoy cycling in the New Forest”, says Sam Stork, who reports here on the project.

There were delays to our build and these were initially due to planning issues, so we went through several designs before gaining planning permission. There was definitely no support for an eco-home in the planning department! The planners insisted on the house being ‘L’ shaped and we were not allowed to have windows on the south elevation on the first floor due to overlooking. The two small windows that appear on that elevation are at high level in the stair landing.
