timber cladding on to render

I have got to create a mock tudor facade to the front of a house, the main structure will be steel cage with timber studding in between. There is a lot of detail in the timber work ie curves/timbers close together so was proposing to render the whole area then fix pressure treated timber cladding. The problem i have is how do i stop the rain that runs down the render getting behind the timber and rotting it eventually.I have found this on houses that are only 20 years old (not sure if they used pressure treated timber).
Cheers Tim

EASY! use lime render and no paints

I generally use a small strip of lead which goes from behind the render and over the wood in all horizontal locations, and also cut wood to 15 degrees top and bottom to all horizontals -- water runs downhill and out of joints etc
