Reluctantly considering an electric oven (100% renewable electricity tariff) and concerned to find an efficient one. EST has lists of energy efficient kettles and dishwashers but ovens..? Dear me no.
Have tried google and similar but the buzz word is always "cheap". Given that we hope it will last us for at least 20 years it's the efficiency that seems more important than £100 or so here or there. Miele have some A rated and possibly A+ and we have looked at these. Can anyone reccomend an energy efficient itegrated electric oven please or a suitable source of information.

Ikea seem to have some good ones. The main thing that makes an oven more efficient is how good it's inuslation is. There's not much else that can change things.

Yes Robin, insulation is important. The Atag also has a well insulated door that doesn't get very hot. I am surprised that Ikea offer A* rated ovens. Are they branded Ikea or something else.

Good point Tony - our A* oven has a microwave built in. I am not a fan of microwaves but they do cook with a lot less energy than conventional ovens. Food can also be part microwaved and finished conventionally.
